This was reported by a Microsoft blogger and posted here also. and SP1-patched versions of Windows Vista, it seems clear that the hoped-for performance fixes that Microsoft has been hinting at never materialized.

And the fact that I did not have a restore point is not my fault, Vista Ultimate was intalled normally and I did not disable system restore. Also - Windows Update is supposed to create a restore point every time it creates an update. ALSO - the fix you said people had posted was only "if" you have a restore point
